Policy, finance, and positioning for jurisdictional sustainability
Nuestra misión
We promote positive pathways toward the sustainability of jurisdictions with forests.
We believe that coordinated public and private decision-making, effective financing and market access for forest and agricultural value chains, and the visibility of achievements are key to protecting forests, fostering competitive production, and promoting social inclusion.
Nuestra misión
Jurisdictional Sustainability
Forest conservation is one of the most important actions to address climate change.
Millions of people around the world live in tropical and subtropical landscapes and use them for their livelihoods. Therefore, conserving these forests must consider the various land uses and seek solutions agreed upon by all stakeholders.
The jurisdictional sustainability model we advocate, called Production - Protection - Inclusion, promotes a high level of government participation (both subnational and local) while fostering collaboration with the private sector, the financial sector, and organized civil society.
What we do
Policy and Collective Action
We empower subnational and local governments to effectively implement policies focused on forest conservation, sustainable production, and key enabling conditions such as connectivity. Additionally, we promote the integration of these policies with decisions made by the private sector, financial institutions, Indigenous peoples, and civil society.
Financing and Market Support for Business Models
We generate technical evidence to strengthen and scale business models and provide intelligence to help the financial sector mobilize resources for sustainable value chains and landscapes. Likewise, we promote market access for new business models.
Strategic Positioning
Through knowledge management and strategic communication, we highlight progress and advance the action agenda for jurisdictional sustainability.
